The problem isn’t always your clothes
Did you know that the colours you wear can have a surprisingly big impact on your overall appearance?
A shade that doesn’t suit you can make your skin look dull or washed out. Your eyes may appear less expressive, your face can look more tired, and even a beautiful outfit may not make you feel quite the way you hoped.
The right colours do the opposite. They brighten your face, make your skin look clearer, and bring more softness, strength or balance to your overall look.
A colour analysis makes that difference instantly visible: you discover why some colours feel just right, and while others simply don’t work quite as well for you.
What a colour analysis does for you
During a colour analysis, we look for the shades that enhance your natural beauty the most.
To do this, we use a range of colour drapes and observe how your natural features, such as your skin, hair, eyes and contrast, respond to each shade.
During the session, you will see in the mirror exactly how each colour affects your face and overall appearance. You will notice, for example, which shades make your eyes light up, bring your face to life and which colours simply do less for you.
This way, you discover not only what your colour palette is, but also why. You will understand why certain shades make you look your best and how to use your palette to choose clothing, make-up and colour combinations with more confidence.

Your personal colour analysis in Amsterdam
90 minutes, just for you
€125.00
Your undertone as the starting point
We begin with your unique undertone. Using the first colour drapes, we look at whether warm or cool shades work most beautifully with your skin. From there, we build your personal colour palette by testing more than 70 colour drapes against you.
Your personal colour palette
Starting with your undertone, we continue towards your personal colour palette: the shades that work most beautifully with your skin, eyes, hair and contrast. This allows us to discover which of the 4 seasonal types or 6 mixed types enhances your natural beauty the most.
Discover your absolute best colours
This is where it gets even more exciting: we uncover your absolute standout colours. These are the shades in which your face comes most alive, your skin looks its very best and you feel your strongest and most confident. We also determine your most flattering base colours, so you can combine the shades in your palette easily and beautifully.
How to combine your colours beautifully
We determine your contrast level: how much difference between colours works best for you. Some people look their best in soft, subtle combinations, while others need more contrast. This helps you combine colours to create more softness, balance or strength in your overall look.
The finishing touches for your look
Make-up and jewellery are the details that truly complete your look. We explore which shades and materials bring out the very best in your palette, so it is not only your clothing that feels right, but your entire look comes together as one.
Your colours, always close at hand
After your colour analysis, you will receive your personal colour card to take home. This makes it much easier to spot the shades that enhance your natural beauty while shopping.
For those who would like even more precision, an extended colour fan is also available for €35.00. With its wider selection of shades, it gives you a more detailed view of your palette and even more confidence while shopping.

How a Blossom in Colour session works
A Blossom in Colour session is not about rules or being told which colours you should or shouldn’t wear. Quite the opposite. It is a warm, personal and accessible way to discover what colour can do for you. You will see which colours enhance your natural appearance and learn how to apply that knowledge to your wardrobe, make-up and shopping choices.
One-on-one attention
During the session, the focus is entirely on you, with plenty of time for your questions, doubts and everything you would like to discover.
Modern and accessible
No standard advice, but a fresh, modern approach to colour that fits your style and the way you live today.
No judgement
It is not about what you are no longer allowed to wear, but about understanding which colours make you look your best.
Frequently Asked Questions
Absolutely. And honestly, it can be a fun way to start exploring colour. Online tools and AI analyses can spark curiosity about your seasonal type and give you a first sense of direction.
That said, there is a reason many people still choose to have a professional colour analysis afterwards.
Smartphone cameras are designed to create an automatically flattering, balanced image. They adjust things like white balance and brightness, and can make skin tones appear more even depending on the light around you. The lighting, camera angle and even the colours in the room can all affect the result. This means the image the app assesses may look different from what is actually visible in the mirror.
During a Blossom in Colour session, we place real colour drapes directly beneath your face, so you can see for yourself what different shades do. You will see how your skin responds to warm and cool colours, which shades make your complexion look clearer and which colours make your face appear more tired. These are subtle differences that can easily get lost in a digital image.
An online analysis can be a fun first estimate. A professional colour analysis helps you confirm which colours truly work best for you.
Your undertone and standout colours rarely change. However, some shades within your palette may shift slightly as you get older. For example, when your hair turns grey, softer or more muted shades may start to suit you better. This varies from person to person, but your overall foundation remains the same.
When you become more tanned in summer, it is mainly the surface colour of your skin that changes. Your undertone rarely changes, so your personal colour palette does not suddenly shift. I do recommend avoiding a colour analysis immediately after your summer holiday, though. It is better to wait a few weeks until your deepest tan has faded slightly.
Yes, you can still have an accurate colour analysis if your hair is dyed.
If your hair is dyed, we will cover it with a cap during the session so the colour does not influence the analysis. This allows us to focus properly on your skin, eyes and natural undertone. Afterwards, I will also advise you on which hair colours suit your colour type best.
Do you have a hair appointment coming up? Then it is a good idea to get your colour analysis first. That way, you can choose a hair colour that works beautifully with your personal colour palette.
For the most accurate colour analysis, it is best to come to the session without make-up.
During the analysis, we look at how different colours interact with your natural skin tone, redness, dark circles, facial contours and skin texture. Foundation, a full-coverage base or bold make-up can hide your natural skin tone and influence the result.
That is why we recommend arriving without make-up. If you are coming straight from another appointment, make-up remover will be available at the studio.
